Session Briefing

 

This session is designed for the Chapter President.  He is responsible for chapter performance and must work with a variety of stakeholders (alumni/volunteers, university, chapter, IFC, brothers, Headquarters) to make continued improvements in the quality of the chapter.   

Discuss the role of Chapter President.

  • Presides at chapter meetings.
  • Reviews the chapter’s goals and progress with alumni, volunteers, Regional Directors, and his Executive Committee.  When those goals are completed, new goals are created. 
  • Chairs the Executive Committee meeting; ensures each vice president holds a meeting of his cabinet.
  • Makes regular contact with:
    • Chapter Counselor
    • Greek Advisor
    • Alumni and Volunteer Corporation President
    • Regional Director
  • Ensures the chapter is current on necessary registrations for membership, university, and the chapter has updated copies of its bylaws, etc.
  • Ensures the chapter is financially solvent. 


Session Outcomes

 

  • Understand the role of President.
  • Identify essential leadership tasks.
  • Build fundamental blocking and tackling skills.
