Ohio Theta Chapter:
The Ohio Theta chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded in 1949 by the men of Iota Chi Epsilon, a local fraternity that had ties with the University since 1921.
Since our chapter was started 60 years ago, we have had over 1400 men call Ohio Theta their home during their college career. There are nearly 1000 living alumni spread throughout the world including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Mexico, Canada, and Scotland.
Ohio Theta alumni have become leaders within the National Fraternity, including two Grand Chapter Presidents, five Order of the Golden Heart recipients, numerous Regional Directors and Chapter Counselors, and many other key volunteers spread throughout the United States.
The undergraduate chapter has 92 men and is planning to break the 100 man barrier by the end of the Fall 2008 quarter. It has the highest grade point average for large fraternities and the second highest for all fraternities with a 3.3 GPA.
The chapter has won the National Fraternity's highest honor, the Buchanan Cup, for the past 20 years. This award is given to the top 10% of all SigEp chapters in the country and has further been distinguished by making a Golden Buchanan Cup, given to chapters who have won for 10 or more years. The chapter has received this distinction four since it was created in 2001.
